Average (± 1SD) muscle activation amplitudes recorded across locomotor conditions as participants are walking at matched speed. Activation amplitude were calculated for the semitendinosus (ST) in early stance [0–30%], medial gastrocnemius (MG) at push-off [30–70%], rectus femoris (RF) at hip flexion burst at toe off [60–80%], tibialis anterior (TA) at toe-off [60%—80%].
